Strength and Conditioning training is the most recommended form of training for both rising and established athletes. This type of training is so much more than simply lifting weights, it involves the performance of physical exercises designed to improve strength and endurance.

Strength and Conditioning programs incorporate a variety of techniques such as callisthenics, isometrics, and plyometrics developed to build a variety of skills. These programs are designed specifically to improve performance in athletic competition. Strength and Conditioning training focuses on the mind, mobility, stability, strength, endurance, power, speed, agility and performance.

Not only will this form of training help athletes strengthen their supporting muscles, and even out any muscle imbalances, but it also helps with injury prevention and developing the proper mechanics within an athlete’s sports performances.

Whether you’re an established athlete or an amateur, Strength and Conditioning training encompasses everything you need to learn new movement patterns, enhance your coordination, peripheral skills, and heighten your overall physical performance.

At Evolve, we’ve been working with a range of athletes, from MMA fighters to footballers, in both 1:1 sessions and in group sessions, teaching them the fundamentals of strength training and movement mechanics which they go on to develop as they mature within their field.

Our Strength and Conditioning coaches increase a rising athlete’s chances of excelling. We do this by helping them to develop their existing skills. We also help to identify and improve areas of weakness that could result in injury.

How will Strength and Conditioning training enhance your performance?

Injury Prevention

Strength training is one of the best ways you can prevent incurring an injury. It creates a physiological change in your muscles, connective tissues, and bones which work to increase your range of motion as well as reduce fatigue. Your tendons, ligaments, and muscles are the support system of your joints, which is why they’re the first to feel the impact of force, caused by blows, falls or awkward movements. By incorporating Strength and Conditioning training into your program you will improve your muscle function, enhance your efficiency, and help your body to handle stress.

Increased Strength

When you practise strength training movements on a regular basis, you can help to increase your power and explosive strength. This is the ability to exert force in the shortest amount of time. Enhancing your explosivity means your muscles will synchronise quicker which will help you to perform movements more efficiently.  Explosive strength is fantastic if you’re a sprinter.

Improved Performance

To boost your performance and explosive power, it’s recommended that you work with a coach or a personal trainer who specialises in this type of training. At Evolve, our coaches take your history, your current ability, and your future goals into consideration when we design specific exercises that’ll help get you in the best shape possible for your area of sport. Performing exercises with good form is key to your safety and your progress which is why working with a coach or PT is key. We focus on your alignment throughout each exercise and provide adjustments and tips for safety and efficiency.

As you can see, the benefits of Strength and Conditioning training can take your athletic career to the next level.

Whether you’re an established athlete or just starting out on your journey, the Evolve team will support you in achieving your goals and excelling in your chosen sport. Get in touch and let’s work together to get your mind, strength, and body to the highest level possible.
